shitty day at work

just thought i would share this picture with you guys, i thought it was kind of funny, and no the guy didnt get hurt, heres the story
this kid is new at my job and doesnt have much expierience on a high reach ( stand up forklift ) he was coming around the corner in one of the freezers with the forks all the way up, which is about 35 feet and didnt realize taht there was racking above him in the aisle way, so basically he caught his forks on the racking which caused his lift to spin around and tip over, he bailed out just in time to not get hurt, all the battery acid and hydro fluid leaked all over the floor, and this is a freezer we work in -10 degrees so the stuff became quite slippery, the battery in this machine alone weighs 2000 lbs so they have no idea how they are gonna stand it back up

That sucks, We had a guy at work do that too, it too was a stand up- we stood it up with a sit down forklift and some chain. We actually had a incident when this guy knocked down a whole shelf while passing thru the isle with the forks up too high. I remember when I first got my forklift certification I was unloading a tractor trailer and was coming out of the truck with my forks too high and hit a dock heater, it separated from the pipe and water was gushing out all over- we had to hurry up and shut the water off. It was f'd up then but I laugh about it now

yeah we have guys who " split the racks " the racks are 5 high and about 4 pallets deep, they hit the sides too hard and basically pull the racks apart, the pallets only sit on little rails on each side so its a pretty bad ass domino effect when they all crash donw on top of each other, takes an entire day to clean u pthough hahah
