Well my trucks in my dads name because in kentucky I believe you have to be 18 to legally have it in your name. Well I come home and my dad was like im not gonna yell scream or whatever cause i know u wernt with ur buddy( my dad is always right he never see's any elses side of story) well I was like hell with this so i was walking down to my room my dad was like gimme ur keys ur trucks going in the garage. So I said enough is enough im tired of you blackmaleing me cause my truck is in ur name it dont make it right to do that to ur son so whats the problem, then he popped off and was like are we gonna do this the easy way or the hard way, i was like im not giving you my keys so he started screaming so i said the fuck with this walked out and now im at my moms.

I KNOW EXACLY HOW YOU FEEL, ABOUT 2 MO AFTER I GOT MY TRUCK, MY MOM STARTED TRIPPIN, I WAS IN HS HAD AN A-B AVERAGE IN CLASSES, PLUS WAS WORKING 40 HR A WEEK (EVEN THO NOT SUPPOSED TO CHILD LABOR) SO I COULD PAY FOR MY TRUCK + INS + HELP HER WITH AROUND THE HOUSE BILLS (SINGLE MOM OF 2). SO ONE NIGHT (WEEKEND) WHILE AT WORK (A&W RESTRUANT) WE WERE FIXING TO CLOSE AND THE HUNTSVILLE STARS BASEBALL GAME JUST LET OUT @ 10:30 SO I CALL HER AND TELL HER THAT AS SOON AS WE CLOSE & I GET READY TO LEAVE I'LL CALL AGAIN & LET YOU KNOW I'M LEAVING WORK TO CARRY MY BUD HOME, THEN I'LL BE ON THE WAY, SO @ 11:45 AFTER RE CLEANING THE KITCHEN UP AT WORK I CALLED & TOLD HERE I WOULD BE LEAVING WORK IN LIKE 15 MIN. OK ALLS GOOD, DROPPED MY BUD OFF & DROVE 25 MIN HOME. SO I GOT THERE @1:00 AM, AND SHE WAS HISTERICAL "YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY A DRUNK, BLA BLA BLA" I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO HER, AND HAD CALLED WHICH IS MORE THAN MOST KIDS WOULD DO, HECK MOST WOULDN'T EVEN HELP THEIR MOM WITH THE BILLS ETC, AND SHE DID THE SAME "I'M TAKING YOUR KEYS" OH!! F-NO YOUR NOT!! I SAY, FINE WE'LL TALK ABOUT THIS LATER & SHE WENT TO GET IN THE SHOWER...WHEN SHE CAME OUT I WAS GONE WITH ALL MY SHIZZLE TO MY G'MA'S HOUSE......I DIDN'T SPEAK TO HER FOR 8 MONTHS UNTIL RIGHT BEFORE GRADUATION........BUT AS I LOOK BACK NOW I REGRET DOING THAT AS IT REALLY HURT HER, BUT SHE WAS BEING ONE SIDED AND SOMETIMES IT TAKES SOMETHING DRASTIC TO GET PARENTS TO OPEN THEIR EYES...WHICH SUX, CAUSE I WAS LUCKY & YOU TOO, BUT THOSE PARENTS THAT DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR KIDS AND SOMETHING WORSE HAPPENS THEN THEY SPEND THE REST OF THIER LIVES THINKING WELL I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS OR COULD HAVE DONE THAT.......BASICLY LET YOUR POP'S CALM DOWN FOR A FEW DAYS & TRY TO TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT IN PERSON OR ON THE PHONE AND GET HIM TO SEE IF FROM ANOTHER SIDE....CAUSE NO MATTER WHAT YOUR PARENTS ARE YOUR PARENTS & YOUR THEIR KID, & NEITHER ONE SHOULD SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIVES MAD & EACH OTHER BECAUSE OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS....

Oh the days when I thought I knew it all too....those were the "good ole days" lol.

Why do you kids think that "if I put it in my name they can't take it away?" lol, if you're living with them they have every right to take your keys for disobeying them, (whether you were or not). Until you're 18 you are under their gaurdianship. You own nothing! Trust me, if you took it to court you'd lose.

NYTRYDR is right to some extent. Don't be butthole, "I'm gonna do what ever I want cuz I paid my measly insurance and car payment" kids. Who gives a flip, you still haven't put out half, even a 16th, of what your parents paid out to clothe, feed, keep warm, keep happy you punks.

And the ole "I'mma move out cuz I don't like parents rules" is fine and dandy....if you're 18. But being under 18 if they wanted you back it'd only take one phone call to the police and you'd be back with in hours.

Don't think I'm on a soap box, cuz I don't mean to be. I've just been there, like NYT, and I am old enough to know what's important in life. I also know what I was doing when I was out late lol....not good things trust me.

Dads can be pricks...TRUST me I had one. I knew better than to talk back though cuz if I did I would have some serious "grille" problems if you know what I mean :O.

Slammed sorry bro. But if your dad had to call you 14 times to get you home, then you deserve to lose your freedom for some time....no matter if you are 17. Sounds as if he was actually gonna be ok until you tried to walk off from him, in which instegating the situation further. And there seems there was no need to "hear your side" aka "excuses". He called you 14 times before you decided "ok I'll go home now". Which to me is blantant refussal to listen.

Either way, another product of a broken home as well. "If Dad doesn't agree I can just go to Mom's and she'll bend to my every need."

Don't mean to come down on you, it's just I know what it's like and I know how I did, couldn't do my parents. (mine waited till I moved out then divorced when I was 16).

I didn't have a good relationship with my parents. And still don't. Not real close to Mom, and haven't heard from Dad in near 10 yrs now. But I do know what a healthy parent child relationship looks like and should be. And in that, the parent still rules the roost and the kid better obey. At 17, trust me, you don't know JACK, zip, notta. I'm 31 now and still don't know crap just a lil more than those younger than I due to experience
