Hey, new here. Got married, honeymoon, house, etc. Finally got time to surf around again and fool with the truck. Here is some background. I bought a project truck w/shaved doors and poppers. The doofus butt that did them put in switches in the rockers to release the doors. Yeah. So, I go out, and the durn battery is dead, meaning my durn doors don't open. Luckily the hood was still cracked so I can jump the truck off. Finally get the doors open, but now the passenger side popper wont open the door. Also, the truck has custom door panels w/ custom speaker pods, and no internal door release other than a hidden button. So while working in the rear cab, the door shuts. Guess what I figure out all at the same time?

1)My battery sucks, and won't hold a charge.
2)The internal door popper release sucks more.

Hmm. Trapped. Wondering if Dynomat is edible, and if so, how long it will sustain life, I decide to yell through the cracked window. Fifteen minutes later, my wife (new wife mind you, and not a fan of lowered trucks) comes out of the house. After a lengthy diatribe about how trucks with no handles are stupid, she agrees to hook the Titan to the mazda and jump me off again. Five minutes later (Jeez its hot in here) she finally gets the drivers door open. Freedom at last. I'm getting new doors with chrome door handles instead I think.

Anyone else hate them?

lol i know a guy that that exact same story happened to him not long ago. sucks then but funny as hell later. i dont think im goin to shave mine. 1. every one does it 2. reliability goes out the window 3. theres only so many places you can put a hidden cable or button that can be found and shit get stolen out of the truck.

Sounds like you need to invest in a new popper kit with remotes. And maybe put some door handles on the inside.

But that story had me laughing

yeah really never unhook the manual linkage inside. safety first.

Yeah I left the manual linkage inside. But my driverside popper is wearing out. It gets annoying when it won't open right away.
