not a mazda. need recommendation for alarm& remote start

but i dont trust any other forum any longer. im looking to put and alarm with remote start on my 98 acura 3.2tl and was wondering what you guys reccomend as far as brand and all of that, my knowledge of car alarms is limited. thanks.

well after dealing with the liking of ssm, where i would have gone, ive decided the people there are dumbasses for the most part and figured i could rely on a more intelligent answer here

i have a omega K-9 and it good. used to have stellar, but it went to shit after a year! what all are you looking for in an alarm?? and as froo ssm, i know how ya feel

i guess, not to sound too much like a tard, kind of a basic thing. nothing spectacular. just somehting to make a bit of noise if the car is tampered with. i have neighborhood cats so it cant be overly sensitive. and as far as remote start, ive just always been a sucker for it so i figured why not lol.

hmm....i dont have remote start and i have mine set too super sensative, if a hard enough wind blows itll tweet!! i dont know too much about remote starts my friend has one but hes out in the filed right now so when he comes back ill as him what kind it is. its purty badass. it tells you exactly whats being fucked with.

im assuming that your car is automatic right? if so its a little easier for the remote start, if you have never done one i would recomend you dont try to " learn " on this car, that bieng said, do you know if there is a chip in the key or a factory theft system? easy ways to tell are if it flashes " theft " on the dash or if theres a blinking picture of a key, if you have nay type of factory theft system you will most likely need a module to bypass that ( around $45 at best buy or circuit city ) if you dont want a real fancy alarm, like one without a pager just regular remote etc, i have an avital avistart 4300 that i pulled out of my blazer, avital is a pretty good brand, it was in the blazer about a year til i totaled the blazer, it has everything you need, but only one remote, you can get them on ebay for about $15 install on it at a stereo shop should run you around $75 ( but dont quote me on that ) plus any parts you need, this has all the relays needed etc, and again it works fine, i payed around $400 for it when i bought it at best buy, you would have to get a hold of the install manual, or any knowledgeable installer shouldnt need one, if you go to best buy to get it put in they should have one there if that sounds like an alarm that would work for you let me know i can get you some pics of it if you want, i would sell it to you for $65 shipped if in the us, and $75 shipped in canada
