Move here, Fort St John BC. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
I know its far away for lots of ya, but people are makin way too much money up here. It would be nice to have more minitruckers up here.
I am posting this cuz a lot of you have mentioned the economic conditions of where yer livin and it seems pretty grim. Point is, a guy can make his life a little easier and build his truck faster up here making more money.
This is an oil rich town and all employers pay more here than almost any other location, and the cost of living is pretty good, For any of you who are welders you can pretty much pick your paycheck, most guys I know make at least 75 an hour plus if they are running their own truck they get paid at least 100-200 a day for it as well, and then everything is a tax write off.
well any way, feel free to ask me questions.
Kids pouring coffee are making 14 an hour here at Tim Hs.

Hey!

My bro is on a road trip across Canada looking for somewhere to live for a while and make some money. He is currently in BC somewhere. He's a carpenters apprentice. Much work for them? He has a 87' Nissan pickup with him now.

Zac

P.S. He can weld too. I can give him you're # if you want. PM me.

phatkix....sask would be uber cheap...but mind numbingly boring...

watch the tv show Corner Gas if you ever get the chance...that'll show you what Saskatchewan life is like...you might think twice.

I really want to get out of Ontario, but then I leave much of my automotive production background behind. I would love to move out west or out east for a change of lifestyle, and to change up my life a bit, gain new experiences and knowledge, meet new people etc.

Unfortunately,I have very little savings,I'm being laid off on October 23,I don't have anything else lined up yet and I'm job hunting like mad. Lots of work here if you only want to make $10-12/hr which is CRAP.

I've been at my current job for a year and a half,on contract and I make a shittypiss $10.50/hr. If I was fulltime there,at a year and a half,I would be making $23.68/hr.

20 years old (almost 21) and making almost $24/hr. Damn right that would be nice.

Dan,have a room for rent? I'll drive my Rodeo out there, trailer my Mazda behind me,rent out a room and go pour you some coffee at Timmys every morning for $14/hr. I've got family in Victoria and Kelowna though....hmmm.....

accomodations are a little tricky up here like I have mentioned on other posts I have have flipped houses 3 times in 5 years, real estate is getting higher all the time its still a good time to invest though.
single bed apt decent about 600-750
batchelor pad 500-650
2 bed apt 700-900
rent, house 1100
rent trailer 600+
reg gasoline 1.05 per litre
mazda insurance 80-130 depending on rec.
utilities, 200
groceries , same as vancouver,
to live decently in FSJ, about 30,000 a year
Most people I report credit for average 8000 a month income.
Being able to have some spare money, build a career afford to raise a family and build the mazda of your dreams faster and without having to eat KD for five years......
........... priceless

our summers reach 30c for most of the summertime, winters seem to be getting better. thanks to global warming?
Winter is when everybody makes their moola, most companies slow down for summer and everyone can afford to take a holiday for 3 months, as long as ya dont party the money away, Beware of Gold Diggin Hoes!! Lots of em up here! They go where the money is. LOL I wish I were one!

Crazymikey, I could probably find ya a roomie pretty fast, in fact I could get you a guaranteed job to start as soon as ya got here, It would be a stepping stone job but it would pay the bills 10-14 until you got out there and got on with one of the bigger oil companies.
high school kids usually take those 10-14 jobs.

contractors for residential and commercial construction are begging for helpers. Most are booked 2 years in advance right now.
Welding shops pay a premium for experienced helpers though and it pays better. Waay better.
If he is in BC and not here, then he is wasting his time.
Hardbodies are cool.
