well it looks like monday i will go from working nightshift for the past 4 years 5pm-3:30 am being a "vampire " to working dayshift & being a "daywalker "
i don't know whether to feel <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( --> but deff. feel
there is one upside, the dayshift works from 6am-4:30 pm, so that will put me home @ 5:30 in the evening, so i ought to be able to get some work done on the truck ....i don't have net @ the house, so looks like i will have to check in here on my lunch to see what everyones been up to.
maybe if i can get some stuff done to the truck i'll be able to get some progress pics up soon!!!

i loved night crew when i was in the military. it is so much better than the day shift. i wish we had night crew where i work now. but like you said hopefully you can get more work done to the truck now. i have to get a garage before i can really get started.

yeah i like nights better too....not so many bosses running around &amp; peeps kissing a$$ or stabbing you in the back buckin for postion.

i told my supervisor i had to do 3 things before i went to days.
1. got to the dr &amp; get a standing scrip for psych meds.
2. go to the local body armor shop &amp; invest in a whole suit of arms.
3. go to the denist &amp; get the sharp tips on my fangs ground down...also
see if i can get an antidote for garlic &amp; holywater
haha!

haha^^^. all so true. one of the main reasons i loved working nights was because of all the bosses and kiss asses were on the day shifts. it seems like there is always a tighter group on night shift. we use to work like 12-14 hour nights and go home happy while the day shift would complain about working 9 hrs. haha. can't really blame them for complaining though...they had to deal with the bosses and kiss asses for 9 hrs. haha.

that's where i think i might have a prob....i've never been a kissass....&amp; ain't fixin to start....thats where the body armor comes in, cause if you ain't kissass, your bound to take a knife in the back @ some point....i'm just gonna try to stick to my motto i've gone by on nights "fly lo &amp; beat the radar" if they can't see ya, they can't hit ya!

I work rotating shifts, days and afternoons, and might work an occasional midnight shift here and there for OT.

As you guys said,I like the midnights atmosphere. Great group of people, always fun,and no bosses and suits around. Our midnight shift runs from 10pm-6am.

I'm on day shift right now,so I work 6am-2:30pm. Just sucks getting up at 4:30am to go to work and then fall asleep by 5:30pm like I did today. Our afternoon shift runs 2pm-10:30pm.

I like shift work better than doing 9-5 every day because it changes it up every 2 weeks and you don't get stuck in the same routine every single day. Only thing I don't like after shift work is if youre on afternoons or something and have errands and whatnot to do before work and you have to drive far away or something, you're always looking at the clock and rushing saying 'gotta be able to be back on time',because factory jobs are one of those jobs you can't really be late for, even by a couple of minutes.

Look on the bright side; Now you can work on your tan. lol

I too did nights for 2 and a half years. Way more fun and alot more time for slackin. But we actually got more work done than the day shift guys (prolly cause they were all 100 years old). But the best part of nights was the fact that it cooled off at night. In an injection moulding plant that in some areas would reach 125 degrees, thats a big plus. Also the shift premimum was a small (and i mean small) bonus, it barely paid for my union dues.

The only thing I didn't like was working a contiental shift
(4 on - 3 off - 3 on - 4 off). My days off were fucked cause I was in a sleeping and eating patern. Days off I'd stay up till 5 in the morning playing video games cause the rest of the world was sleeping.

oh yeah, continental shifts suck. Our midnight shift is the same, they seem to be more productive than the other 2 shifts. You've also got a good point about the temperature at night too,it does make a difference especially in the middle of summer.
