Anyone had abdominal sugery before?

I was wondering if anyone has had any abdominal surgery before? I had surgery last monday and they took out 8 inches of small intestine. All I know is that I hurt more that I ever have in my life. I was wondering if anyone else has had anything like this cause I'm tryin to figure out how long I'm gonna be down. I'm walkin around the house like a old man bent over and can't stand straight. Well I was just curious.

8" of intestine? what for...if you don't mind me asking? i had hernia surgery while i was in bootcamp. worse time of my life! hope you get to feeling better soon. i know somewhat what you are going through.

i havent had surgery, but a buddy of mine has, he had gone through it twice, had 10"s of his intestine removed due to crones disiese, he was down and out for a while, lost alot of weight, and was on an I.V. for a while, but hes all better now, he did miss a full year of high school, the only thing i can suggest is lay in bed and play video games or play on the computer, hope u recover quickly man

Well I had a narrowed passage which was a result of crohn's disease. I had a real bad case of the crohn's disease in may (missed slamin and jammin for it) and ended up in the hospital for 10 days. I lost 30 pounds that time. But the medicine they put me on reduced the inflamation and put the disease into remission but while inflamed it created a narrowed part in my intestine which ended up gettin backed up so they decided to take it out.

What was the worse time of your life? Boot camp or hernia surgery? LOL

Anyhow, I've had abdominal surgery twice to reduce a supraumbilical hernia... and I'm going under the knife for a third time... probably late summer '07 'cause the mesh they inserted did not hold.

Abdominal surgery sucks 'cause you have to be real careful how you move, sit down, get up, no sex, etc... and having a cold right after surgery is murder 'cause sneezing can pop the staples...

haha. either one seperate wouldn't have been to bad but the two combined really sucked.

I had penis enlargement surgery....I got the full 4 1/2 inches now.....It hurt for a while, then I stopped beating it like it owed me money....feels much better now.

All kidding aside, I have had probably 10 - 12 surgeries, and Most of them took a good week for the pain to start to mellow, but you have to relearn your limits, at least for the next couple weeks or so. And as cliche as it sounds the more rest you get the faster it will heal....Hope all goes well for ya.

Well getting up, sitting down, walking, and even sleeping are all slow and difficult. They put me on percocet for the pain and it works some but it ain't great. After a few days I am able to get up a bit easier and walk a little more straight up. Now I'm in the process of getting a temporary profile cause I know I ain't gonna be able to do much of anything for awhile, much less a PT test. Thanks for the info guys.
