man, everything was going pretty good today until a friend of mine died on the job. this sheetmetal guy i work with went into the hospital about 5 months ago for cancer, due to smoking. he came back to work about 3 weeks ago. today i was working and saw a bunch of guys scrambling over by him. he kept coughing up blood. he must have lost about a pint or more before he past out. he was still awake when the ambulance got there but died while in the ambulance was on the flightline waiting for the helicopter to come pick him up and take him to austin, tx. it fu**ing sucked to just stand there helplessly while he blead to death. he taught me quite a bit about my job and easier ways about doing things. after he got out of the hospital he went right back to smoking. i hope all you guys that smoke quit and quit soon. everyone on my dads side of the family has died of some form of cancer, mostly due to smoking. anyways, he will be missed.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN BRO, AND I SEND MY CONDOLANCES TO YOU AND HIS FAMILY. I JUST RESCENTLY LOST A 24 YR OLD COUSIN THAT WAS INTO THE MINITRUCKING SCENE (V8'S IN S-10 KINDA KID STATIC DROPPED) HE HAD A RARE HEART DISEASE THAT HAS BEEN UNDETECTED SINCE BIRTH. BUT KEY IS , HE SMOKE SINCE HE WAS 13 AND HIS LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED BUT HIS LUNGS WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH TO UNDERGO HEART TREATMENT, FOR THOSE THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND , YOUR LUNGS HAVE TO BE ALMOST 100%% WORKING ORDER WHEN YOUR HEART IS HAVEING TROUBLE BECAUSE WHAT LITTLE BIT YOUR HEART CAN PUMP, YOUR LUNGS HAVE TO KEEP PULLING OXYGEN IN . VERY SAD TO SEE MY YOUNG CUZ GO SO SOON , ANYWAY STAY STRONG BUDDY , I NEED TO QUIT MYSELF I HAVE ALOT OF KIDS I WANT TO SEE BUILD THERE FIRST MINI

holy crap man,I couldn't imagine how horrible you must feel right now after having to witness that. That has got to be rough.

The worst I've seen at work was some one give themself a concussion after trying to pick up a seat from the conveyor and the wire harness got caught in the rollers and she yanked on it and the wire came free and the seat flew up and the metal bracket nailed her right in the side of the head and she just dropped to the floor like a bag of bricks, and I was working right beside her. I was so shocked I hardly knew what to do,so I yelled for help and like 10 people all ran over and eventually got her back up.

As for smoking,I agree. Quit and quit soon. Horrible, filthy habit. My dad is a very heavy smoker, like atleast a pack a day. He's 55,over weight, unhealthy, has high blood pressure and cholesterol and he's a ticking time bomb, and the day he goes is probably going to be the hardest day of my life.

it was rough to watch. no one in the hangar could do anything other than watch and try to make him comfortable. i think pretty much everyone knew he was going to die. once you start spitting up blood like that you are pretty much gone.

yesterday his daughter came by to pick up his truck and see how big his tool box was so she could haul it out. i felt so bad when i saw her. she was everything in the world to him. he raised her on his own since she was 5. he was a real good guy hard to get along with at times but a good guy. would do anything for you if he liked you. haha. his daughter is going to let us know when the funeral is so i will def. be going.
