This is a true story happened on December 16 2006 at approx. 11:00 AM

After a hard night of drinking my best Friend had a good home cooked breakfast at the "party house" because he had to take 2 young girls home ( i live in a small town about half hour from the "city") to the city. little did he know that later that day he would be staring into god's eyes begging to stay alive. well they leave Rouleau (small town) headed down a correction road (Gravel road) in fairly decent weather. when all of a sudden a White out blizzard hits em about 3/4 of the way to the city. my buddy being the one never to turn around continues down this road which evetually meets a busy high way..... luckily theres a stop sign there.... WRONG.... my buddy not seeing the stop sign till the last minute slams on his brakes in his 1989 mustang it being icy and him not being able to see Skids right into north bound traffic ( him going eastward) slides in the Trailer wheels of a Semi-truck....(this is where im going by the police report) from there he spins the car 180 degrees and gets hit by a south bound semi... but the back of the north bound semi's tires bounce and land directly on the back of the car killing the 2 girls instantly while being hit by the south bound semi the car seperates into to right at the B pillars and the Young man sitting "shotgun" got beheaded by the seat belt. my buddy gets his legs crushedunderneath the dash by the engine getting pushed back onto them and his upper body getting dragged on pavement for a good 20 feet or so...

To this day NO one knows why or how my buddy is walking after 2 months of Crazy recovery from his part and is now in a Rehabilitation centre learning to get his balance left..... the extent of his injuries are as followed :

Broken femirs(sp?)
shattered shin
mutliple fractures to the skull and face including a broken cheek bone and shattered eye socket.
Broke all but 4 ribs.
dislocated right shoulder with Torn tendons and nerves as well as shattered arm

and the best news ive ever heard is that he should make a full recovery pending the doctors in Edmonton fixing the tendons and nerves in his right arm.

me and my little brother started a green ribbon campaign siginifying car safety as my buddy was serously injured to the point of no recognition... and was litterally 2 minutes from death.

So let this be a lesson to everyone or just a watchout for your fellow motorist/minitruckers. when the weather gets really bad dont hot dog it and continue on.. and if you can do it with EXTREME care....

As you can guess 3 people passed away on that morning and there is virtually nothing left of the mustang... i will put pictures of wut the car looks like after it getting hit... when i upload them to Photobucket... but please watch out for your fellow motorist and minitrucker...

thats my "rant"

thanks for your time

...my god. That is horrible. I'm glad that atleast he was able to make it out ans recover, but that's got to be a lot of weight to carry on himself for the rest of his life knowing that 3 people lost their lives with him.

And yes, when the weather is bad,it's never worth it to risk it. You're better late than never,or better safe than sorry.

BTW,completely off topic, isn't Rouleau where they film Corner Gas?

sorry to hear about your friend there southern....
Yes rouleau is the place that they film Corner Gas there mikey.. My friend has a long road ahead of him.... but he is finally walking after 2 months... i have pictures of him when he was in Surgical ICU and it still bothers me to look at the way that he was after the accident. he was literalyl a balloon waiting to explode... and i didnt even reconize him when i went and seen him on christmas day... what a present i got that day.... worst part of the whole ordeal is that i found out that it was his car and him in the accident while i was in the middle of a 12 hour shift at work and i was the only one on call so i couldnt leave.....

Wow. Tought to say anything else after reading the article and seeing the pics. On one hand, It's good to here your friend is getting better and will be around for a while... unfortunately 3 others won't. I will have to admit, "being the one never to turn around" sounds a lot like me. May have to do some serious thinking on that subject.

Again, I wish only the best for your friend.

thanks immortal... right now he is in Edmonton Getting his right arm looked at because during the accident when the engine got pulled out of the car the transmission (5 speed) was also pulled out and my friend wasnt letting go of it and it tore most of the nerves and tendons in his arm... so he has no mobility of it..... but thats why he's in Edmonton getting it consulted
