some of you may have seen my posts asking about how to lift a 2wd mazda, well I decided to keep my 2wd a 2wd and use it as a daily and lift a 4x4. I just got this truck home and I have a good list of stuff to do. I am going to leave it IFS during the winter to get a baseline of that susp. system and then swap in a Wagoneer front and rear axle and then test it again. I will use this post to keep you up to date on what I am doing.

1988 Mazda B2600 4x4
purchase price: $600 u.s.
bad carb.
2" body lift
Diamond Plate Tool Box

what i will be doing today:
swapping the bench for buckets
checking the carb to see if it can be rebuilt or if I need to get a weber

thanks guys,

I know its cheating, but my 2wd was just too nice to take it off the road for awhile. at least during the winter it should be getting bagged, hopefully. If you want help designing a long travel suspension for your B, I can start drawing up what I was going to do to a 2wd. Look at off-road buggys (2wd) and sand rails and you will understand what I wanted to do.

I am going with a weber carb conversion and looking for a header, it should get rid of most of the stuff under the hood. then its emmisions, insurance then straight off-road.

thanks,
Mike

no 4x4 s in my area that ain't wrecked already, nice clean truck man, real good deal, like blue crush said , up here the market would pay up to 4500.00 for something like that, and it would sell in 5 mins

it definently helps when you know the owner that is selling. he had it at $900, I came to look at it and he sayed, give me $600 and its yours.

The tires are 31x10.5R15s. They howl when you are driving down the road. They are a pretty aggresive tread, cant remember what brand they are, its too dark right now.

I am going to call around to see if I can find a cheap carb to use till I can buy a weber.

when I get it licensed and insured, I am going to try and stack it on my 2wd truck (tire on tire) then take some pics.

one bit of advice if anyone converts their truck from bench to bucket, get the bolts from the seats you take out, cuase you bench only has enough for one seat. my driver seat is the only one in, I have to stop and pick up some bolts at the wrecking yard.

thanks for the support,
Mike
