Here is my '84 Sundowner. All I have really done to it other than clean it up is I took off all of the emissions, Put on a Weber 32/36 carb and I had a Magnaflow muffler installed. I still don't know what to do with the front end. I like the shape of the '84 but I like the quad headlamps from the '79-'80s models. Any suggestions?

nice! it looks like you have a real nice start for a killer project. how is the frame? i love the square headlights from the 83's. the guy i got mine from converted it to round head lights though. i will put it back stock later. what are your plans for her?

The frame is straight and has only a little surface rust, but nothing bad at all. I plan on modifing it more for performance than looks. When I get the money *laughs to self* I am going to get the motor rebuilt and try to get some more horse power out of it. I believe the motor can hold up to about 300+ hp (so I have read) but I don't think I will get near that much. I don't want to drop a bigger engine in because I like the gas milage of the little 4 cylinder. I don't know. My dream car is a '85 RX-7 GSL. I don't know if I will get the engine rebuilt on the truck or get a RX-7. It will be some time before I can do anything though.

sweet man, i am about to rebuild mine. i plan on boring it out .030 over, shaving the head, with a 2" exhaust system. i have a holley 5200 carb and a weber carb that i want to rebuild and see which one i loke most. other than that i don't know what else to do to beef it up. i could get all kinds of expensive internals but i don't know if i want to go that far. a guy i work with has 2 first gen rx-7s that he is building to race. one is a parts car. i think just like you with keeping the 4 cyl due to gas mileage. what all have you heard on beefing these engines up?
