Im thinkin I want to paint mine white. Its really hot down here in florida when you dont have a/c, so I figured its kinda the best idea..

are our trucks gonna be twins? lol

White looks really nice on the B's. My grandpa has a white '92 ext cab,and I always thought the colour suited it well.

hey mike if you spary the truck with epoxy primer/sealer first you wont have any of that ugly rust creep comin through the paint like ya doo now and you wont have to go back and fix it when you go to paint the truck shiny

yeah, the truck is sprayed with a 2K urethane primer at the moment, but I didn't seal it,and I've still got the can of sealer unopened in my basement. I sprayed the truck over the May 2-4 weekend, but it was raining all weekend, and I had to do all my prep and painting outdoors between the rain, and by the time I got around to spraying the truck,I ran out of time to spray the sealer. Didn't help matters that I borrowed a paint gun and my crappy little 3 or 5 gallon compressor couldn't keep up with the air demand, and it took me over 2 hours to spray 1 coat of primer on the truck! lol

Now,what I was thinking, along the lines of the way that the paint scheme is layered on the front,is so the same on the tailgate,as it wraps around the side of bed, layer the left and right side down in the 3 steps like on the fenders, and have them meet in the middle. That might look cool.

Man,I gotta go buy an orbital sander next week. That should do the same trick as a DA sander, since I don't have access to a good compressor, right?

dev,I might mention I'm also kickass with spraybombing,so it would turn out pretty damn good for a rattle can job.

For an idea, here's my old Contour that I two-toned with a charcoal grey around the bottom. Took me I think 14 cans, and then I wetsanded it all and then clear coated it and wetsanded that, and beleive it or not,the whole job lasted all winter, and came away with only 2 chips on the front bumper! I think I did about 3 colour coats, and the whole thing took me about 30 hours.

That's my trunk lid I was working on when I had the car. I fiberglassed over the red reflectors on the trunk lid leaving the eyeball reverse lights, and I filled in the seam around the licence plate. I got rid of the car before I ever finished the trunk, which was too bad. That car had so much going for it. I'm making sure the Mazda doesn't meet the same demise.

Doesn't look half bad at all for a rattle can job!

I think you should go with a FLat Black??

HA!

Anyways good luck with your paint job!
