Nice puppy man!
I also have a Beagle, her name is Bottine (French for Boots). Bottine is 3 years old and loves to play. When I come home all my wife has to say is "Papa est là " (Dad's home) and Bottine goes nuts!! She runs to the door and jumps up and down until my wife opens it. Bottine then runs straight to me and we chase each other around the yard before going back in.
The only thing I strongly urge you to do is to keep your Beagle on a leash until you train it to come back to you. We use a combination of a whistle and dog biscuits.
Seriously man, Beagles are notorious for running off. Once they smell something interesting they will not stop... And it's worse if they are male. Keep treats at hand 'cause that's the only thing that got our Beagle back on the few times she got out of the yard.
Beagles were bred as hunting dogs and to dig out rabbit and fox holes so they love to dig. Make sure you have a good solid fence.
Oh, one more thing... Beagles love to howl... be ready for this... it sounds real cool but can get annoying real fast.
Otherwise, we found our Beagle to be loving, loyal and she loves to cuddle... a real lap dog.
I also have an older German Sheppard/Husky cross who is a real lazy bum. He will play catch but otherwise likes to sleep and/or lie about.
Here are both dogs sharing some quality time.
