Outta The Body Shop

Well my truck finally got out of the body shop about a month ago. I haven't had time to post any pics and today was the first time that I've had to wash it. I still have to take off the snows in the back and remove some leafs and the bumper still needs some more shimming and such but here it is.






The truck was painted from the cab forward. When I get some more cash I'll finish up the box. In all the cab and the front inner structure was stripped to bare metal and redone. The "origional" hood and cowl was reused. New fender, grille, bumper, valance and mirrors were put on.

The color is stock "Tropical blue" something. The truck was about 4 different shades of it when I got it and the new paint didn't match any of it. The paint was actually really expensive. I bought enough to do the whole truck and a cap. It came to $217. The new sheet metal, bumper, valance, lights and mirrors were $370. The rest of the materials to paint it like primer, filler, sandpaper, etc and the labour came to $600. I did do alot of the work. I stripped the truck completly, patched a few spots on the inner structure, stripped the hood, roof and doors, fitted the new panels, did the final sanding and made the bumper brackets. I also listed some stuff on eBay for the owner of the shop and sold a motor for him. So the total was around $1200.

I've always considered that color green

dude that's not a bad price at all for enough paint to paint a truck!!
try HOK or PPG - they have some EXPENSIVE stuff.

Looks Good BTW! i've been thinking of repainting my truck that color. that's what color mine was stock.
