I just installed a 75 watt rms x 4 channel audiobahn amp and new mb quart components and 6x9s in my 3000gt. the battery is 630 starting and 525 cold carnking amps. I started the car and listened to the system for like 5 minutes, i shut it off, and it wouldnt start again. battery volt meter said 12 volts. im pretty sure i usually ahve 14. anyway, i believe i need a bigger battery.
I need some suggestions as to what size will work good and what brand.
thanks, Ian

With the truck not running, it is supposed to display 12 volts. At running it is supposed to be 14.

I say just go optima yellowtop. It is so worth the investment. I had a loose alt. belt once in the winter, and I was listening to my system and running everything else until it would'nt start a week later!

I will be running 2,000 watts soon. It will handle it, so I know it will handle yours.

Yeah a yellow top would help...but if the battery is showing 12 volts and it wont start I assume there are other problems... the alternator should keep the voltage at between 13.6 and 14.4 when the truck is running, but the battery will stay somewhere around 12 when the vehicle is not running.

Red For starting, yellow for deep cycle, and blue is best, with 1 year more to the warranty.

Get a group 34 blue top, lol. Its big, but it'll be the best you can imagine. I got a red top for the engine, and a stinger 1000 (something) for the stereo. Dunno when the stinger battery and stereo is going in tho.

it was just a loose positive connection at the battery. i replaced the terminals and it works fine, so far...
