Ok so my work is planning on opening a distribution center in california, I have been there 9 years and am the guy they would like to run it, what are the emissions laws and shit, it would be around the riverside area, maybe a little south or a little north 50 miles either way, am I gonna have to do some crazy shit to make my trucks legal emissions wise? are there towns on the outskirts that dont have the strict rules?

yea theres town around that dont care, what do you have done on these trucks to make them not legal?`

I Heard CA Was Super Strict On Their Emissions Laws

Well, if you want my opinion, California is about the worst place to live! Alot of laws and restrictions there and especially emissions.

If you do not have stock emissions count on failing their visual inspect. That is, if you need to go through..

My emissions place only does visual when you try for a waiver, you might try and see if they do the same.

Regardless, they will look for cat(s) on the underside, and may whine about your muffler if it is'nt past the cab.

muffler doesnt matter, legally you dont even need one to pass in ca. , carb means nothing as long as it still passes the emission portion. long as all you egr is still working properly and it will pass they usually dont care

EPA Made The Emission Laws In CA So Ud Think That They Would Be A Lot Stricter There. In OH And MI If You Get Pulled Over For Loud Exhaust They Just Ask If You Have A Cat And You Say Yes They Drive Away

my trucks pass here in king county, but I have heard california was a little more strict, so basically I want to know if I pass in seattle am I gonna pass there?

I just had my truck smoged and they told me that since my cold air intake was not CARB legal I didnt pass visual but passed eveything else and they check the gas cap too...Just make sure that every thing on the truck is there to pass smog..

It depends. Did you replace the stock carb? Have you removed any emissions equipment?

If your answer is yes, you fail
