So with fall in the air,and winter soon to be looming it's nasty ass,I'm giving up my daily driver Nissan pickup to v8mazd4ever,which goes towards partial payment of him going to do the air ride on my Mazda this winter.
So this left me in a bit of a pickle, having no daily, and just the Mazda which I hate using as a daily. Since I drive 1000km a week commuting to a from work,I do a lot of driving and lots of highway miles,so I just cruise along basically. I also do a lot of driving,if not to and from work,it's so see my girlfriend at her university 2 and a half hours away,or over an hour's drive to visit my dad and such. Basically, driving a minitruck every day just doesn't cut it for all the driving I do.
I figured something like a VW Golf or Jetta would be great cuz they're cheap on gas,but I don't really like the cars themselves. So I decided this time,I'll go out and get something a little nicer than anything else I've had before. With a chat with my grandfather,he was willing to give me an interest free loan to buy a car. I can't afford anything newer than 2003 due to insurance prices being insane (ie: $680/MONTH full coverage for a 2006 Colbalt LT sedan for a 21 yr old male).
So,I settled on a nice 1998 Cadillac Catera. Yup,the poor man's Caddy, lol. Got it at a decent price with low miles, and obviously has all the bells and whistles being a Cadillac. Leather, power seats, heated seats, power everything, sunroof, cruise,AC,traction control,4 wheel discs, premium Bose stereo w/cd player,3.0L V6,chrome rims and all that jazz. I thought it would make a very suitable daily driver for our horrible winter conditions. First of all, front wheel drive being great in the snow, the heated seats & traction control are all bonuses for the winter, plus in the summer it's still a nice ride to cruise around in when I'm not in the Mazda.
This is the only pic I have right now, from the ad on AutoTrader.
First thing next paycheck, those windows are gettin' tinted. I'm not going to spend much money modding it. I have payments to make on it,plus I'll be owing all the money getting the air ride done on the Mazda,so like I bought it for,it's just a daily driver.
