So with fall in the air,and winter soon to be looming it's nasty ass,I'm giving up my daily driver Nissan pickup to v8mazd4ever,which goes towards partial payment of him going to do the air ride on my Mazda this winter.

So this left me in a bit of a pickle, having no daily, and just the Mazda which I hate using as a daily. Since I drive 1000km a week commuting to a from work,I do a lot of driving and lots of highway miles,so I just cruise along basically. I also do a lot of driving,if not to and from work,it's so see my girlfriend at her university 2 and a half hours away,or over an hour's drive to visit my dad and such. Basically, driving a minitruck every day just doesn't cut it for all the driving I do.

I figured something like a VW Golf or Jetta would be great cuz they're cheap on gas,but I don't really like the cars themselves. So I decided this time,I'll go out and get something a little nicer than anything else I've had before. With a chat with my grandfather,he was willing to give me an interest free loan to buy a car. I can't afford anything newer than 2003 due to insurance prices being insane (ie: $680/MONTH full coverage for a 2006 Colbalt LT sedan for a 21 yr old male).

So,I settled on a nice 1998 Cadillac Catera. Yup,the poor man's Caddy, lol. Got it at a decent price with low miles, and obviously has all the bells and whistles being a Cadillac. Leather, power seats, heated seats, power everything, sunroof, cruise,AC,traction control,4 wheel discs, premium Bose stereo w/cd player,3.0L V6,chrome rims and all that jazz. I thought it would make a very suitable daily driver for our horrible winter conditions. First of all, front wheel drive being great in the snow, the heated seats & traction control are all bonuses for the winter, plus in the summer it's still a nice ride to cruise around in when I'm not in the Mazda.

This is the only pic I have right now, from the ad on AutoTrader.

First thing next paycheck, those windows are gettin' tinted. I'm not going to spend much money modding it. I have payments to make on it,plus I'll be owing all the money getting the air ride done on the Mazda,so like I bought it for,it's just a daily driver.

opps forgot to ask, how you going to pick stuff up with out a truck? your always running across ontario for different parts that i dont think will fit in a car none the less if they do they might rip or get your leather dirty

um,maybe because my truck is almost finished and I don't need any big stuff. Plus my dad and grandpa both have B series I can borrow.

sweet,I just did a little more research on the Catera and even though I already knew it was built in Germany as a rebadged Opel Omega,I was pleasantly surprised to find it is actually rear wheel drive. Sweet. It's no monster though,it only has a 3.0L V6 with 200hp and 192 lbs-ft of torque.

lol,I guess my dad's gonna be surprised when I roll up to his house and park a Cadillac beside his Lincoln LS.

sweet ride man, when my bagged yotas tranny crapped out i bought myself a brand new 07 dodge nitro, best decision ever, i dont know why your insurance costs are so high, i pay $157.00/month for full coverage on my nitro, my 1991 acura legend LS, my 89 B2200, and liability on the 91 s10..... lol damn, anyway bro, nice car, take care of it.

$157/mo for 4 vehicles?! Holy crap. I'm gonna be paying like $330/mo for the Caddy and the Mazda. I hate insurance.

Congrats bro on the new car and just think after the mazda's done we can pimp out the caddy a little bit biggger wheels and say suicide the back doors. just kidding on the doors and if you need to pick up stuff the nissan is always available in exchange for a poor mans caddy. And as it is a 4 door you now are the desinated driver for us all to go to hooters for lunch when we are alll up here.
