Wow.. you guys have some good gigs!~

I used to be a business analyst for IBM for 13yrs or so... After 9 yrs of commuting over 70min each way to and from the offices that I worked at I got spoiled and was able to work from home for 4 years. Roll out of bed, hit the coffee machine and on the laptop working within 5min. LOL .. global downsizing came around and i got a decent package.
Took just over a year off. A friend and his father opened an auto parts store in the small town I moved to around 4yrs ago.. I've been working there for just over a year now. Money sucks but the cheap parts and come and go as I please type setup is good. I no longer commute and that's the best part.

I'm an electrician by trade too, been doing that since i got out of highschool in '94, the past couple years i have been doing something a little different, till last april, i spend 4 years as a procurement specalist for the electrical dept on a large project, then in june, i took a job as a project construction supervisor / field engineer / scheduler / and equipment operator in florida, that lasted till the first of this month when i got a job back home as a project controls scheduler which is pretty neat & pays good too....I'll say this, work is nothing like i planned back in h/s, i took drafting/cad in hopes of being an engineer in the aerospace or automotive industry, and ended up doing construction for quite some time, and have worked to where i have a pretty diverse resume which helps now-a-days.

to sum it up, jack of all, master of none!

I've been a translator for almost 20 years. I do mostly English to French and some French to English. I can also do Dutch to French or English.

However, for almost 5 years now I've been working for my province's health department as the French Language Services Coordinator.

Part of my job is to take care of the French Website and all the publications. However, the best part of the job is to work with the Francophone communities in the province and help them improve the kinds of health services they can receive in French.

In order to do this I work with a group called the CCS. Thanks in part to me they were recognized by the provincial government as the official voice of Francophones in matters of health and social services.

On the CCS Website you will find this:

"One position reserved for a bilingual senior official from the Department of Health, with the understanding that such an appointee is granted sufficient authority to speak on behalf of the department."

That's me. LOL

In closing, my job description is pretty sweet. My daughter read it recently because she came to work with me as part of the "bring your kid to work" day and she sums it up like this: "do what you want when you want", within reason.

I used to work at Kawasaki for 2 years after i gratuated highschool, started out doing assembly and would put brake drums on mule's then they put my through weld training and i got bumped up and they let me do braze welding on gas tanks that we'd fabricate from scratch then leak check em' in a huge tank of water presurized then send them out to e-coat to get painted.

then i started college and haven't had a job the past 4 months which sucks i'm looking for one at the moment....and i'm not going back to work at McD's

I work at Sherwin Williams. I repair airless paint sprayers, texture sprayers, HVLP, and Conventional Spray Systems. Pretty cool job, I just hang out in the back with the radio and one of my best friends works back there with me.

I work at FormulaOne in raleigh nc. I am the only tinter/installer. So basically i run the place myself. I also do 12v installations such as remote starts, keyless entrys, alarms, mobile video, satelite radios, also do vinyl decals We also do other little odd ball stuff. i have been doing it for over 2 1/2 years. Before that I was the assistant mngr of advance auto parts, and i did that for two years. But i like what I do, and i make good money. Side jobs are good benifits. So if you in or near Raleigh, and you are needing tint let me know.......
