No, everything will NOT go as planned. Learned that with my 2 daughters.
1. If you plan on taking the wife to dinner to giver her a break, your new bundle of joy will scream at the top of his/her lungs just as the waitress shows up. Then create her own bundle of joy when the food arrives.
2. If you plan on sleeping in on Sunday morning cause you just spent the nite "helping out", guess what - not happening!
3. If you plan on working on your truck cause that part has FINALLY arrived your little girl/boy will suddenly spike a 105 temp and you are headed to the emergency room
4. And my favorite.... you find out that your new found bundle of joy actually likes going for a cruze in your truck. You get her strapped in, give her a bottle and promptly hit the road. Two minutes in she throws a temper tantrum and pitches the bottle out the open window then realizes what she did and screams even harder. Back home you go.
Would I trade any of it away - NEVER! Enjoy being a dad as much as you can in the early years cause they really do grow up fast. And if you are planning on teaching your new son football don't get to bent out of shape when he finds he likes the saxaphone more. It happens, just gotta roll with the flow.
CONGRATS!
