i live in washington where it is always cold and sometimes my carb freezez up in the mornings it started happening when i took all emisions off try spraying starting fluid down carb it may fire. if i drive my truck when it really cold with out letting it fully warm up it will start to form o snow ball in carb good luck...Bigz

i live in a cold area and never had to use starting fluid.. Maybe some help from jumper cables for that extra boost while trying to start but never starting fluid. any carb'd truck /car can have problems starting in winter ..

sounds like your heater plate could be not working or even removed. If you are running a stock setup try leaving the ignition on for a couple minutes before cranking then try. The heater plate should warm the carb enough to keep the fuel from dripping and puddling in the bottom of the intake. Or you could always retard the timing a degree.
