so i just bought some wheels from an 02 chevy tahoe. there 6 lug and 5.5. everything matches up but there is a pretty big gap between the holes and my studs. does anyone know if i will-
A. need to change the studs to chevy studs
B. try and find thicker lug nuts for my stock studs
or C. if itll be fine to just used the same stock lug nuts from my truck

i found a site that said they would fit but i would need the center holes machined to 4" or tabs ground off hubs. but i have put the rims on (without tires and tightening the lugs) and it fit fine. i just wanna make sure all would be fine before i tightened up the stock lug nuts and drove

Most need bored, is the mounting face of the wheel against your rotor with no gap? If you look in the tech write ups by members there are some write ups from members grinding the tab but personally I recommend against it.

For my GM wheels, I got bigger lug nuts. They are "Acorn Bulge Seat 13/16" Hex Head" 12mm x 1.50 thread. I got them online from Brandsport. I wouldn't trust the "stock" Mazda lug nuts on the GM wheels as like you found out the holes for the studs are a bit gigger.

that Brand Sport site totally helped out! i didnt think i would be able to find bigger lug nuts. thanks!

yeah baha theres a gap, i saw what u meant with those tabs. grinding the tabs seems like itd be easier than machining the wheels, more would have to be machined for the wheels to fit on the back, and i dont think itd be good for the wheels, the metal between the log holes and the center whole would be quit a bit thinner, but i will look through the tech write ups

I bought an 89 B2200 and it came with Tahoe wheels ... not the same as your pic, but similar.
The lug pattern is right, and bigger lug nuts take care of the hole problem - but this isn't the real problem with Tahoe wheels on the B2200 ...
The Tahoe wheel is "inset" 1.5 inches compared to a standard wheel. Obviously those Chevy trucks have wider axles, and they compensate with an inset wheel. This tucks the tire WAY under the Mazda fenders, which looks dumb, sometimes rubs, narrows the vehicle stance, and most importantly - it loads the front wheel bearing wrong! Ideally, the tire centerline should be centered between inner and outer bearing - not 1.5 inches in!
The only way to correct the problem would be 1.5 inch wheel spacers all around, which would require long studs all around, which would be so expensive it's not practical. My solution is to buy a brand new set of alloy wheels from ION, and sell the junk Tahoe wheels on Craigslist.
