Need help!! Cheapest engine swap for 88 B2200!!

Just got another B2200 and wanting to do a engine swap this summer.
Im thinking of doing a Rb20 but not to sure how much that will run me, I am a student, and price of doing a swap is a vurtue! Please help and give me some ideas. thanks.

man its hard to say what will be the cheapest. depends on your skills and what resources you have available really. maybe a v8 would be the least exspensive but you have to mod the firewall and some motor mount work.

Well im definitely not very experienced but i have a friend that knows how to do all of this stuff, and what not. And i honestly would like it to sounds more like a tuner then a muscle car, and i want it to eventually be a drift truck.

Ive always wanted to either do a 351w or a small 4cyl cummins.

hmmm if you want tuner....maybe a 13b or a 20b rotary motor? or a sr20det. thats actually what im doing. a sr20det s14 black top. with the variable cam timing. or even a ka24de would be a good motor

yeah i was thinking about something like that.
But all in all, whatever is the cheapest and easiest to do for it to be tuner.

What about a Chevy 4.3l V6. They make pretty good power smaller then a V8 and you may not have to cut up the firewall as much. The Bonneville SSI had a 3.8l supercharged engine, that thing makes some decent power too. That is the engine I want. If you want to keep it Mazda look at the MX6 turbo or better yet supercharge a rebuilt 2200.

I did the 4.3 swap. Very good power! The only issues I ran into was having exhaust ran and clearance of the hood. I had to buy a low profile intake and air filter. Truthfully, the 4.3 gets great gas mileage and sounds awesome with magnaflow exhaust.
