i am making some new mounts for my upper control arms on my mighty max.

i am sure i have them strong enough....... but i am curious to know how much weight, pressure, torque, or whatever is actually bearing on them through out the motion/travel of the suspension

Is it more of a guide then it is a load bearing part? any input would be great. opinions, facts, etc.

thanks in advance.

both upper and lower hold full front end weight of the truck. wherever the spring (whether it be bag, tortion bar, or coil) presses upward/downward is where the most weight is supported tho. usually lower holds most weight tho

Thanks Matt. I made the passenger side mount just have to add some gussets and clean it up now. Then onto the driver side.

Just want to take all precautions and make it as strong as possible and as SAFE. as possible

Remember all the braking force will want to push the upper control arm to the rear of the truck.

Slowroller--thanks I will make sure I gusset and strengthen for that particular motion.

ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY INPUT IM TAKING IT ALL AND PUTTING all in to planning my gussets to keep this thing safe.

Here's a few of the passenger side...I've got a little more done just no pics yet. I have the basic set up made just got to add gussets and some plate. Then clean it up and onto other side.....then bag mounts.

Well anyone else have any input or pointers from experience doing this.....

Well I got the basic upper mount done on the pass. side. I got the drivers side mocked up and ready to start on it when I hit the garage again. I still have to gusset but I wanna get the two sides to the same point to simply have something accomplished.

Hope to have some pics up soon....
