My truck shimmies in the steering wheel about 40 to 45 mph and up. There are certain speeds where it kinda evens out but not completely. I talked to another guy that has a bagged and bodied truck just like mine and his does the same thing.

The rear of the truck shimmys too but I think that may be a u-joint. Does anyone else have this issue with there trucks? Its almost like the death wobble that 4x4's get when the dampner is bad. My truck is a 93 b2200 reg cab, bagged and bodied. Running 205-40-16's on z71 wheels. The other truck mentioned is an 86 on factory wheels.

check ur steering links, being bagged put more stress on them so they do wear out faster, and not to be a smartass but have you checked tire weights to make sure they are still on and in the right place...iv had an 86 88 90 91 mazda trucks all slamed, three bagged, never had that prob with out it being something wrong like a bad link or wheel weight...or even haveing something under the wheel you didnt see when you put the wheel on last..

Yeah ive balanced the wheels recently, Ill check the links and all as soon as I get a chance. The tires up front are a lil out of round but not enough to cause this. Why I was thinking it may be something else. Ill hopefully be doing some work to the truck soon anyways so ill look it over real good as I go.

Thanks for the input!

Also this thought just came to me, my wheels are improperly bored (they were like that when I got it) so they may not be sitting on the hubs right. If thats the case they are going to be ground off when my new wheels get put on.

ur wheels may be a good place to start if they were done wrong, but i would look over the truck too.just in case

Almost forgot about this thread. After getting my billet specialties on and installing new tires my shimmy is 97% gone now. Its like a totally diff truck.

Good to hear you found a solution. Having read the initial part of this thread the first thought that came to mind was incorrect caster adjustment (front end alignment).

I do need to get an alignment one day though.

Yep, too little caster on one side or both can give you stability problems (shimmy).
