i bought an engine from a guy who bought it new only has 19 thousand miles on it runs good no smoke but it wont idle has the weber carb on it and header but i cant get it to idle for anything went through the carb tonight no trash everything seems to be working checked all the spark plugs all still look brand new distributer cap is in good condition and rotor button plug wires are new so the problem is not the igniton if i hold the gas down a little bit it will run but stomp it it breaks up
have you gotten it to run off of starter fluid? A vacuum leak at the carb plates would cause this symptom as well, and a clogged fuel pump/lines, and a fried ignition control module in the distributor.
the truck will run on its own fuel just wont idle for anything runs good around 2000 rpm's and up im thinking about putting the other distributer i have in it tomorrow but i honestly dont think it has anything to do with ignition
