My flowmeter and ECM just turned to crap. Since these are a bit of a pain to find where I live I was wondering if a carb conversion is possible. Anyone done this before? Ideas?

the 87-88 2.6liter carb'd is very different from the 89-93 2.6l, the carb and intake are not interchangable, you will have to custom make a manifold and find a carb that is suitable for that size of motor, thinking about it... it might be easier to do a side draft carb set up

Been looking at a Weber Redline kit, but I'm not quite sure this will do the conversion I need. And still I'd need an intake manifold. Is custom really my only option on this?

Custom is the only way really. I know that the 91-93 MPV uses the same motor setup. In addition they use the same wire harness and computer connectors. It is unconfirmed how well these ecus will interchange and perform for the pickups. A friend of mine did use the auto trans B2600i comp in a 5 spd model without a change in performance. This might give you other options for parts.

the mass air flow sensors in the 2600i are the same as the 2200, i compaired the two of them and they have the same part numbers
i hope that helps you on your journey

Just found more info so Avpro and a new air flow sensor seems a more feasible route for me in this case. Carb conversion requires a bit of time to get done and I don't want to let the truck sit for too long. BTW the 89-94 MPV sensor is the same also, a G601. Thanks for the replies folks, they're appreciated.
