Folks, I'm new here and I figure some of you will be able to direct me. I own a '92 B2600i in which I am contemplating dropping a small block Ford or Chevy. I tried Ultimate Customs out of Canada but I guess they're out of business. Any help out there? Many Thanks.

that might help

I'm in South Texas. Already shopping for a small block.

Ya Loyd has been out of business for quite of few years now. If you decide on the chevy small block to do then get ahold of me and I can do the mounts you need motor and tranny and the new cross member

Roger that! Thanks, and I'll look you up. How big a headache will it be dealing with the firewall with a Chevy as opposed to a 302? Thanks, again.

There is no problem other than massaging the tunnel for the tranny but if you go to engine swaps there is a guide in there from ultimate customs that was put up by one of the guys I sent the manual to. It shows you everything you need to do. But it is not a bad or hard install to do.

The firewall issue will be the same.

Now I'm a Ford guy, and I already have a twin turbo setup behind a 363w stroker, but if I were you I would build a 351w.

A stock block can take around 800hp {74, and earlier}, more cubes, taller deck height for more cubes if desired.

It would be about the same difference to do the 351w as the 302, its the bell housing that makes you have to ding the firewall.

The firewall issue isn't exactly the same. You can set a SBF a little farther back with the stock firewall because you don't have to clearance for the distributor; which will leave you more room up front for the radiator and fan.

Your right. I was thinking more about the bell, and deck height. I forgot about the dizzy being in the rear on the other engine.
