I have a Ford 9" built, and installed in my B. It would be nice to have the AL feature, but not a "must have".

I still have all of the old stuff that I took off, but to be able to, possibly, transfer it to my Ford 9", I need to know what makes it work?

I know there is a computer under the driver seat, and some type of solenoid on the rear end itself.

the sencer on the rear end is a magnet and it is needed for the A.L. to work at all it feels for the rotation of the ring gear and tells the the solenoid to fire in time with the marks on the ring gear

Thanks. Looks like its not going to be in the deal for this project as I already have the rear end in place.

Do they make rear disc brake kits for the 9in rear? I think id go with a new proportioning valve and do a conversion. With all the power you have under the hood you need good brakes.

yes the thunderbirds had disks on some i think..iv seen 9in with disks anyways..and they looked stock
