hey guys, i got two things going on, wondering if they are related? I have a 91 b2200 cab plus. My fuel guage has never worked;........all other guages do. Ive been having a charging issue with the alternator so i picked up a brand new GM one to install (havent yet) but last night my truck died on me, jump starting doesnt help. My gas guage as ALWAYS read empty even when full. All other guages are working. So now its acting like its not getting any fuel? Any idea were i should start on either of these?

It sounds like it maybe the combination of a couple issues. When you say jump starting it doesn't work does the engine at least turn over?

yeah it cranks like crazy. but there is no "catch" no sputter start die, just a fast cranking. my wife gets off in about a half hour and im going to go try it again. Im hoping i just flooded it out somehow, its carburated. I like the gas mileage but maybe im not getting the gas mileage i thought???????? maybe its REALLY bad! I had someone donated another truck to us, the body is shot but it has a 350 with a good trans..........maybe im looking for a reason to shoehorn that in lol. But it would defeat my purpose of wanting a small truck for gas mileage

is i turning over faster than usual?
if so sounds like you broke a timing belt
the gauge is a whole nother issue

HA HA, got it home. like i said the guage NEVER works........first full tank of gas in the truck........it was out of gas. Ill take that over broken things any day lol. I drove ALOT more then i thought i did with always picking up and dropping off donations. GOTTA get the guage figured out tho
