Fudging mother poopin mazda.....grrrrrr...

al right so i just finally put my brand new crate motor in. runs f ing great....purrs. and runs dpown the highway uber quiet....

heres my problem... my fuel mileage still sucks ass....maybe 12 to 14 mpg...and if it sits and idles it leaves a nice sooty foot print on the ground...

heres what i am running... 2.2, weber, pace setter...0deg timing...

so heres my question....why in the sheep hit hell do i get crappy mileage... what is everyoe jetted at on thee webers... an i have heard so many recommendations on timing but never a definitive answer...i got a shit ton of dough in this motor and am about sick of mazda motors...i am running 18'sa and short shift and if i stretch it and coast alot maybe i can hit 200 miles per tank of gas...

wtf am I doing wrong here what is everyone jetted at and what timing are you set at for your mazda

32/36 the only thing i really told them different then what i would be running was a cam ... i told them i would be running one but never have got one....i am in the process of building a a/f guage so i can see where i am at...i actually think i got better mileage with the jy motor ..i was scratching at 200 miles to a tank... i know this one will get better but not envisioning 200 miles per tank better...

These truck engines are normally set up to run 6 degrees BTDC at idle. That also means with no vacuum draw at the distributor.

You ALSO need to verify that the vacuum advance is NOT bad.

Do you have emission testing where you live?

If you check these two or three things, we can go from there.
