What is a good size of rims to put on my 89 mazda b2200. will 17's make it look lower than stock? i want about 5inches of clearance.

17s or 18s are good, check out some of the Mazdas in the Rides section ->

It all depends on how low u wanna LOOK or how low u wanna SIT. U can run 15s with 195/55s and get decent clearance while being dropped low. Tire size makes a big difference on the height too. I used 205/40s rubberband tires on my eskies and sierras and sat maybe one n a half inches higher than 15s on 195/50s

I prefer 14s and 15s. Looking lower is relative to where you're looking. Big rims make it look lower ONLY if you're looking in the fender well and see tucking of rim/lug nuts. But when you have 5" between the ground and rocker or ground and frame, it'll look like the wheels are holding it up because they're too big. Keep donk rims off minis!

I have to agree with you just because you are tucking in your fenders doesnt make you low. When your static and have to carry some blocks of wood to clear your frame rails on speed bumps in apartment complexes your a minitrucker.
