So I put an intake system on my b2600i and the cone filter sits right next to my radiator fan and I was wondering if the hot air the engine bay blowing directly at the intake filter raises the engine temp? Should I extend the piping to make the filter suck air thru the space behind the headlight area?

yes and yes..lol..i used a pipe for a civic to put it over by the head light so it would get cool air

Haha I figured it had sumthing to do with the placement. I jus got the piping, fittings, and filter from o'reily auto parts and slapped everything together.

Thanks alot man

how about some pictures...? do you have any of the way it was setup before...? i've got a setup on mine, have had it about 2 years now and its ran great the entire time...

this is what mine looks like

This is my current unchanged intake setup. The filter sits right there inline with the fan

I'd get rid of the last stock air re circ box and attach your intake kit directly to the throttle body will need to either re route the mass air flow wires to get it to still reach the sensor if you do...I'll get some more current shots of my setup posted shortly

91extcab, does deleting the re circ box make any difference? Does it throw off anything or trip any sensors

im running with most of the factory emissions stuff gone... charcoal canister, some of the fuel vapor solenoids, no factory air box parts except the mass air flow sensor... havent had any weird reading or running issues and after i first drove it without all the extra crap it actually ran better, felt a slight power gain (not much but it could be felt, and pedal is more responsive) which is better than no gain
