Is it neccesary to raise the bedfloor after the cab has been body dropped.?

You have to do something to line the cab and bed up.

So can you do the bed first? I got to get rid of some rust in the floor of my bed. So I was going to make a new floor so I want to do the bed first. Can it be done this way?

Raise the bedfloor and then use spacers to line it back up until the cab is done. Seen it done many a time.

Cool thats what I will do then. But wont need to space it as its all getting done this winter.

two ways to do it without raising bedfloor

if your doing a 2 inch body drop do this:

remove 2 inchs of hieght on your bedmounts and weld it back together , your going to have widen it a bit with releif cuts and add some metal

or what i did becuase i made a custom backhalf frame
this is a bit more complicated but makes sense

so i got a 2X3 tubing for my frame rails,

-i made the side that was 3" stand vertical (2" across on top)
-took 2X2 square tubing and measure how much u need depending on body drop
-take stock bed mounts ,cut the top off with the hole, but keep it
-put 1/4" on the inside of the bottom of your bed mount
-weld the first piece u cut off with the hole, on the bottom where u put the 1/4" inside

- take the new bottom (top if it was stock) and wrap it around the 2X2 piece you cut earlier , weld it together

now all you have to do is weld it to the frame rail and add some gussets on the sides oviously for strength.

i think anyone agrees its a minitruck do it your way , what ever u think is best and u know will work . theres no right or wrong way.

as long as your welds are good and your truck lays hard id say its done right
