Have you done ignition coil yet?

I figured it would have something to do with fuel. Maybe fuel pump filter.

check the vacuume line at the "T" from the distributor cap it made my 87 spudder bad

Did it stall out real bad going up hills and shut off the truck? Mine bucks really hard then shuts off and wont start up.

Well if you try to hold steady rpm in neutral about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle does it sputter. It could be vacuum advance, ignition coil or a bad vacuum on the intake. I've dealt with all these on my 86 so far.

Plus fuel pump is mechanical so when it goes it pours gas out of it. Also don't forget about the fuel filter.
Assuming it has been a while.

Ya it bucks really hard going up hill. That's my next move is the filter. Is it on the tank or on the firewall?
