Why would my engine get hot at 60 mph. and run cool around town in stop n go traffic ?

Check your fan clutch.. if its going bad it may cause your problem..just wiggle it front to back on the truck.. if its got a good amount of play its a good indication that its worn out.. also if you can run the engine and your fan isn't really keeping up with the engine while its cold is another indication of a faulty part

Fan clutch? Nope!
If it isn't the t-stat, it's gonna be all radiator.

Agree with Sin City.

A bad fan clutch would tend to produce the opposite: hot in city traffic, OK at highway speeds.

Lol.. its cool..I've had this happen and it was a clutch .. but hell .. t-stats are cheap enough to make it worth a change anyway just to rule it out.. the truck that I had the problem with had a clutch that was bad enough where the air coming thru was enough to slow the fan.. just speaking from experience.. every time I've found a bad thermostat its had more problems from idle and low speed than high speed

So, you-all think it's the clutch fan ? Is there any fans for the B2200s ? like a flex-fan with out the clutch ? Or do i buy a new clutch fan ?

No, NOT the fan clutch or the fan, your symptoms are opposite.

Thermostat or radiator. I replaced my radiator late summer 2010 for same issues, never had an issue then around town, just at Arizona highways. No runnin' hot anymore !!! I used the 2-row from O'Reillys, even though it's designated for automatics, I just don't use those two extra fittings.

Lol.. I'm just stating you should check it! Just to make sure..Cusser is right with what he's saying too.. I'm just saying I've had a clutch go and that happened.. *results not typical* .. lol

Turned out to be the radiator, bought a two row automatic from advance auto, runs cool. Almost too cool. Thanx everybody.
