Noone has done a step-by step on this yet that I know of. I might do a DIY with my next FE3 swap I do for someone.

Its really simple.
*Kia engine bolts to stock Mazda trans.
*Use Mazda engine mounts on Kia engine
*Use Mazda oil pan/pickup tube on Kia engine or cut and drop the crossmember for the Kia oil pan
*Locate and mark hole for crank angle sensor, drill hole, get correct air-gap and attach to Mazda trans
*Make a new power distribution branch to power the Kia harness/ECM/fuel pump/O2 sensors/starter/ignition/alt
*Splice in dash lights/gauges
*Make new coolant hoses
*Make new A/C and Power Steering lines (Or use brackets/accessories from Mazda engine)

That's like...about it that I can just randomly think of.

You've got to be pretty good at wiring to sort out all of the grounds and power wires so you don't fry anything. Its easy if you understand wiring, a pain in the butt if you don't.

yeah i am very confedent with wiring diagrams i am a communication tech by trade electronics tech so if i can get wiring diagrams i will be good to go. i may just fabricate my own harness with mil spec connectors if i can get the diagram i have done this for a honda with b18c in the past

YEY! Another Kia
We'll fill in any questions you may ask, SD is a champ, I'm a chump, between us we'll have some answers.
I'm up to "build computer" stage of my conversion (mazda not kia but not too much difference).
But work, time and $ are all getting in the way as is normal for everyone
First step, find a Kia with harness etc. the rest will come

Ok few more questions what year Kia and I have a 4x4 2600i

do the manifolds bolt up also? just curious on that one if i wanted to put a weber on it, since my truck is carb'd
jenko   +1y
Which manifold bolts up to what?
DOHC's are often hard to carb, not sure why, not sure who knows why. lol.
I'd do twin sidedrafts if I were to follow that with a custom adapter/manifold.

Kia: 95-2003? Something like that. narrow it to 98-2001 and you'll be golden.
And as for the bolting up... the trans won't "bolt" up for a 2.6.
I imagine you want to keep the 4x4?

Might be best putting a turbo on your 2.6.
Dear everyone, please comment

yes would love to keep 4x4. ok well thats something to think about. new box goes on this weekend found one without rust here in ns

sorry for the noob question but im assuming the kia swap only bolts up to the 2600/4x4 trans and not the 2wd trans?

Other way around. It bolts to the 2.0 and 2.0 engines. Not the 2600's.

Supposedly someone said the G6 tranny bolts to the 2.0 and 2.2 engines using an F2 flywheel....But I'm not sure if its really been successfully done or not. That would mean the Kia engine would bolt to the B2000, B2200 and B2600i transmissions.
