Hey there, just new to this site, found it very difficult to find good information on b2000 diesels.

There are 2 up for grabs, both for 1500. The bodies on both are in good condition, and I know I should get them both to keep one for parts. The trucks are out of town, and one has an acceleration problem. That one has a perfect body, and is the one I wish to restore to daily-driver material.

When I drive down there, what should I look for on, or in, the trucks? Is there anything about these trucks that is unfixable? Or common issues that I should worry about?

I drove one a year ago, and fell in love instantly. I really wish to bring these two back with me but if something is unfixable, I wish to know about it prior to dropping the money.

Thanks

Get em both id say. Check the norms like oil and coolant. One probably has air in the lines or a clog in the fuel system

thanks a lot, I'm renting a flat deck and i'll bring them up. How much do they weigh? Can't find any specs on these old things. an 86 is around 2300lbs, I'm assuming it's very similar. Is it better to use a dolly or a deck? For the dolly I would have to disconnect the driveshaft, and again there are no directions on how to do that.

If you can get a deck and secure the truck to the deck that is what I would use. If you get the trucks post up here and we'll help ya get em both up and running like champs. I have a feeling that both are in good shape, as the Perkins S2 engine is cast with a cast head. Very reliable, but hella slow.
