What is the farthest you all has driven? I want to hear the stories. Any break downs etc.

My !988 B2200 has been my daily driver since Aug. 1994, but never was our "family car". That said: the farthest from home I've had it has been about 450 miles, to go on a 5-day cruise from San Pedro, CA driving from Phoenix. I've driven it to Flagstaff, AZ (150 miles) as recently as June (Fathers' Day) to watch my youngest play baseball and still return to Phoenix for Fathers' Day dinner with oldest and Mrs. Cusser.

And I drive it to Chino Valley (105 miles away) at least once per month.

Breakdowns: I had it stall out going 60 mph on a major road in town in the late 1990s, it was a bad ignition switch. Mrs. Cusser (who drives it way less than 0.1% of the time) had the clutch go out (slipping, just worn out) on a big mountain about 2005; she just has the knack of things going wrong while she's driving. That's the only time that truck has needed towing. I heard about that for years, that the tow driver had only a few teeth, and she was scared.

In 1986, she took over as driver of my 1970 VW on the way to California, so of course within minutes the engine case cracked. She has the Midas touch: everything turns to mufflers !!!

Drove 2 half the time, towed one the other half on our move from northwestern washington to shelby nc. Didn't have any breakdowns, and did the drive over 5 or 6 days... Somewhere close to 3000 miles total...

the worst break down mine has experienced is a month ago my brother in law drove it to the next town over (60 miles or so) and the flange between the exhaust manifold and the (remains of the)catalytic converter just blew out and it lost power, i drove up pulled it out tightened down the bolts and drove it home with ease lol i just remembered i still need to replace that.

I do the 320 mile round trip to Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama for the vintage races and swap meet in my B2200 each year, and usually haul one or two old bike projects home in the bed each time.... No breakdowns on a long trip yet. The B is good on the freeways and will cruise around 80 all day long, just keep on putting in gas and it will go all day.

Thanks for all the stories guys...I assume these lil trucks are reliable just like the Toyota 22r. That all I love the mazda's and Toyotas.
