There seems to be a good amount of local events still going on. It goes up and down. I'm sure it has to do with the economy and with the new fuel prices. I'm definitely not traveling 100+ miles for a show anymore.

In the area I am in, many of the more local shows (within a 2.5 hour radius or so are all gone but 1 or 2 bigger ones) Other then that it is going to be about a min. of 4 hours travel to a show. Just coming from myself...Anymore I prefer to be in the garage working on a project then be at a show. I enjoy the show itself usually...But I am not a partier...So at night...The way it is anymore..I pretty much sit in my room (which i do not enjoy)

So...Going to shows...Usually I only stay for 1 night, or go down for a saturday. (longer trips i cant justify for a day trip...its just too much money for what it is).

I think the "scene" as a whole is still going pretty strong... I just think you have a big split of ppl going to one or another depending on personal interest.. (some prefer busy, night life, etc.....Some prefer relaxed, calm, and hanging out...Im in the 2nd category).

Im from Montana and shows are hotrod and classics mainly with a few customs here and there so in order to catch a "mini truck" show we gotta travel 9 hours to Seattle or the other way to Oregon and its outrageous with gas prices and food etc. But its worth it to me to hit up atleast 1 each year. The Sitting Pretty show this year was pretty weak compared to the past few years I thought. When you said that you wont drive 100 miles to a show anymore I was kind of surprised because we don't have that luxury around our parts. Though im sure It would gt old after a while.
