I changed out my timing belt truck runs good but there is hesitation in the peddle also when I timed it with the light the distributor cap is now at the front when it was a lil rear of center does this mean I'm a tooth off on the timing belt and which way should I move the belt if that is the case any help would be appreciated

Question: did you remove the distributor when you did the timing belt change? If so, maybe the distributor spline was off one when you re-installed that.

If not, sounds like you need to re-check the timing belt, need to pull off the top timing cover for that.

No I only messed with the distributor after the timing belt was installed I did however set the timing at 8 degrees instead of 6 I was hoping that would give me a lil more horsepower but I'm still only getting up to 70 unless I'm going down hill

Sounds like you know what you're up too.
So this may sound silly but you did remove your vacuum advance when timing correct?
Anyway, if you need to check more things, good old MT has a bit of info

links to MT... I'm going to get in trouble!

Got the timing fixed I had the vacuum advance hooked up wrong at the carb

8 points for me I reckon.
Not the full 10.
Glad she's all sorted.
