So theres this really annoying and loud clunking noise whenever i shift, or accelerate. I thought it was the exhaust but its not i was thinking maybe its a bad seal on the crank. ANY IDEAS?

check your drive shaft. make sure its not loose or if u have a carrier bearing, make sure its not letting the shaft sag or move around too much. that would be the easiest place to start.

Agreed I had this very issue and thought it was tranny or exhaust turned out to be u joint next to carrier bearing... check it out though if it is get it changed...mine broke Loose coming home one day and I only had one of the like caps holding my driveshaft in! Learn from my mistakes...

Worst case scenerio might be your rear end ring and pinion.I would def check your drive line up on jacks (rear axle off ground) in neutral for slop and go from there.A good check of the u joints and carrier. Now if you have a standard cab,no carrier bearing but, check the above.Seems here in the last wk two other members have had issues with noise with the same or similar issues.Standard or cabplus you can turn the axle on jacks and feel the clump if a bad or worn u joint or carrier or r/p depending on your trucks model.Out of go power and tired so just sharing and yeah been thru the same or similar problems.

First thoughts are the UJ like the others.
Also check your engine/gearbox mounts.
"Clunks" are usually mechanical, "taps" can be exhaust related, lol

carrier bearing definitely possible u joints as well. mine was doing this and i went to napa and bought the whole boot and carrier bearing. no more bang lol
