So is anyone using aftermarket oil pressure and temp gauges? If so what brand and did u have to mod the senders or use other senders? Thanx as always,

Fred

I'm using a SunPro $30 tachometer I got at O'Reillys. I mounted it on the top steering column cover.

Hey I had one of those before I got my tach cluster... I think my temp gauge or sender is broken cause it never goes above the C! And I'd like to be able to actually see the oil pressure.

I'm using an aftermarket sun pro triple setup. Volts, oil and water. For the Oil sender, I had to go to napa and buy an aftermarket copper line kit from another manufacture. Can't think of the brand but it was a blue package (cardboard back with clear plastic). It's a little bit smaller mpt for the sender and will screw in with a little love. Lol. The sun pro won't work unless you tap the hole. I'm still working on a location for water. Might tap into the heated intake system for where the egr switch is. (Green plug) and for volts. That's easy lol.

Well what can I do to test my temp sender? I don't have a multimeter... I only have a test light and shit like that... Wifey's family might have one though... I just worry about the temp getting high and shit also not really related but my oil level is kinda high not milky and it isn't smoking (at least not after it warms up!) am I getting blow by and getting gas in the oil? I'm due for an oil change too! Thanks guys sorry for rambling I'm tired as hell!

Which temp sender you talking about? The one that runs your dash gauge? If so, that one can't be used on a sunpro gauge because the thermocouple for the sunpro wont fit in that hole.

Yeah that's the one! Do u know of any way of testing it? I don't have a multimeter. Also as posted above can u think of any reason the oil level would be high? It isn't milky or anything.

there is nothing really to test for that one. You cant use an aftermarket water temp sensor in it. The FPT is way smaller than any other aftermarket MPT fitting on a water gauge.

As far as he oil goes, oil doesnt expand or reproduce lol so I would have to say that it was just over filled. Pull your dipstick and see if it smells like gas. That would be an indication of a head problem.

I smelled the oil and it had a slight gas smell but not overly... I just checked the oil again though and it's actually a lil low! Maybe I was just seeing shit!
