things i should check on hard start

i need alittle help what things should i check on a hard start
i put some gas in the carb it starts
its a 1987 b2000
please help

check the fuel filter. iv had many of my mazdas with a simular problem and i had junk in the bottom of the gas tank. so i dropped tank cleaned out and new fuel filter and it would run like new!! good luck!!

If adding fuel gets it to start, then it's - obviously - a fuel delivery issue. So not ignition or compression related.
