92 b2600i 4x4 trans question

Hi Folks, I have an issue with my trans more likely the transfer case. I have a good donor trans complete with tranfer case. My question; it seems easier to pull the entire engine and trans out as one unit replace the trans out of the truck rather than trying to replace the trans from under the truck on my back in gravel driveway. Am I thinking correctly here or creating more work ? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks Shaun.

I would just drop the transmission and xfer case.
Pulling the engine with it means you'd have to d/c exhaust, fuel, electrical, cooling, A/C, P/S, etc...
Sounds like more work to me!

Be careful with the trans when you drop it... the xfer case makes it a bit unwieldy.
