The problem with barrels is they are awful to haul for scrap. in the truck pictured, I was hauling 680 lbs of metal. So, in terms of tonage, not so much

Though, in terms of volume, this was pretty much a 3rd world truck overload special. But that is why I staked up the beds with pallets

Besides: I was only going a couple miles, and none on highway.

That does seem like a ton of stuff for these trucks but I can't say much I transported a 1100 pound bike over 300 miles in mine once and it was on 3 inch blocks and I had a leaf removed in the rear... Needless to say that won't EVER happen again... The fastest I could go (safely) was 35mph and even that was sketchy... Rode like shit the intire way as well. Lol

I towed my dads trailer to a friends house so he could use it. I got up to 19 MPH and thats about as fast as i could go. Damn trailer weighs a ton. if it woulda had a car on it, i wouldve just spun the tires.

I have hauled 1100 lbs of steel on 10 year old tires with stock suspension over 12 miles in downtown traffic, then highway traffic. I believe my top speed was around 50 mph.

Fast forward a couple years, and I hauled four loads of about 1500 lbs of rock 12 miles one way, getting up to 55 mph. Three of these loads were in one night. All with two people and two shovels. My leaf springs were bent ever so slightly backwards. Is that bad?

Once a week I haul 26 pallets to cash... I drive on the hwy from my work to recycler. Only total about 5 miles, but lots of traffic. She does just fine...
