got a few questions about the front dash speakers in my 1990 B series.Im guessing you Audio guys would no hell of a lot more than me at this point LOL. Well my front dash speakers are freaking SHOT. Im curious about the exact size of the dash speakers and they are the only 2 i have whitch sucks i looked all over my house for a ruler or tape mesure but no luck., but yea im looking for the exact size or if anyone can recommend a set of speakers that will go right in without modifying anything.im looking for something thats gonna have good sound and just a little bass. Im just looking for something inexspensive but still sounds good and goes right in. Lets see if some of you guys can recommend something to me would appreciate the help!

The dash speakers are 4". I like the MB Quart, Rockford Fosgates, or MTX.

Yep they're 4s and as far as bass goes, ur not gonna get any from little ass 4 inch speakers. If I were you I'd mount some 6x9s behind your seat in a box wired to a small amp set on low pass, that would be about the cheapest u can get for some bass. Idk, I have 2 12s and 2 6x9s and 2 6.5s and 2 4s...lol and I have a single cab!

Also if you can fiberglass (or know someone who can) u can make speaker pods out of your kick panels for super cheap and it looks good and sounds good IMO.

And I'm not sure if your truck is a ex cab or a single cab but if it's a single you can cut the rear speaker holes to fit 6x9s

I just got new 4-inch Pioneers earlier in the year for mine. The Jensens I installed in 1995 were degrading in quality due to heat and time. Mine were about $30 on-line ($50 at Frys).

I am an Auto Body Technition by trade and i do alot of structual work, and my professional about cutting 6X9 holes in the pillers...i would never do that because you are comprimising the structual integrity of the truck but thats just my opinion. I do know how to work with fiberglass and im sure i could figure out how to glass some speakers into the kick pannels, but i dont think i want to get all fancy and crazy with it i think i will just buy a good set of 4in speakers for the front and get some 6X9 boxes for the back with some good speakes and run and amp to everything and im really not a bass guy a little is alright but nothing crazy

Its body on frame, cutting up the body doesn't do a damn thing to the structural integrity of the truck.

The only structural integrity i could see taken away is in a rollover. and in these trucks you'd be boned anyways so yeah i'd cut 6x9's in the pillars ll day but i would cut ultiples in now that's a diff story.
