Lowering it doesn't affect the abs, but since the abs in these trucks is rear wheel abs only, i removed mine from my 2600i. Stock shocks is the rear will not bottom out before the axle hits the frame because the shock mounting distances don't change with blocks, only the point where the rear end connects to the leaf springs. That distance will change a little with mono leaf, overload and 3in blocks, but not enough to make them bottom out before the axle will come into contact with the frame. A notch would help, and an in frame small c notch would solve axle slap. I had the same issue with my truck, i however put in a set of air shocks to help with ride quality. That was before i z'd behind the cab, went back to a full leaf set with load carrying shocks. I also have 3in blocks even with the z, and a set of pinion angle shims.
On an abs note, you can remove the abs by getting rid of the actuator on the frame, passenger side, above the rear axle, and by removing the computer from under the drivers seat. I removed my abs out of necessity when i swapped to a b2200 rear end which didn't have the abs sensor like the 2600i rear had.
Oldskool, I'm gonna send you a pm with my tablet phone number, feel free to text me with questions. I'm one of the few guys with 2600i knowledge, and i don't know as much as some, but do know more than most with what I've been thru with having mine as a daily driver for 5+ years, and 120,000+ miles driven by me, mine currently has ~326000 miles, original motor/trans
