I need to put the shorter b2000 rear in to be able to tuck a larger wheel. Not sure what all I need to swap from the 91 rear to the 84 rear to make it work.

Are you trying to keep six lug or just use a narrower rear end?

I'm trying to do both. I like the 6 lug and I want to run a bigger rim.

How much narrower is the older body style rear end? I ask cuz you may have to relocate the spring perch/brackets if it doesn't line up.

I'm bagged with a 4 link. The 84 rear is 4" shorter but is a different gear ratio. So want to swap my pumpkin and use the short rear and axles.

I don't know if the 3rd member will swap over or not that info the more experienced members would know.

I am about to do the same thing. Hope to go get the rear and drive shaft from an early truck Saturday.

From what I have read the past couple days you have to use a third member from a b2600 it is a p type diff they come in 3.7 gears 2wd and 4.4 gears 4wd.

The only thing I dont know yet is if the drive shaft flange on the b2600 third member is the same as a b2000/2200 that is why im going to get the drive shaft out of the early truck when I get the whole rearend.
