I am just wondering what old trucks would work on a Mazda b2000 frame. Any ideas?

86-93 b2000, 2200, 2600, and 2600i all 2wd. The 4wd frame is different. The 2600 and 2600i you will have to switch motor and trans mounts. Then again the standard cab short bed has a different frame than the standard cab long box/extended cab short box.

If you have a pre 86 I know the Ford courier was a re-badged Mazda. Those were standard cab short box or standard cab long box. The long box was called a Sundowner.

Also search is your best friend. here or google.

Are you asking what other year Mazda trucks will fit onto an '86-'87 B2000 frame?

All the frames from '86-'93 are interchangable.

I've got an '89 2wd frame under my '86 truck and I have a '90 2wd frame under my '87 4x4 truck.

Yes, good point ChaserJohnDoe.

There are slight differences that you'll have to think about depending on what engine, tranny, 2-piece or 1-piece driveline, rear end, etc.

What I ment by my statement is that the bodies will physically bolt up to any frame combo. (ex cab to ex cab, standard cab to standard, etc.)

No I was just wondering if, for example a 47-54 Chevy body would work on a mazda chassis

Bolt on I would say no but if you have the skills you could fabricate new body mounts and take in account for the wheel base of what ever body you plan on running.

I love these Bs, but I must ask, why in particular would you use a Mazda B frame instead of something larger or ready for mounting a more powerful engine?

Just curious I know the s10s are the popular swap, but I got a mazda was thinking it might make a good donor someday

You would be far better off using the Mazda frame, and swapping in the motor and transmission of choice.
These frames are factory boxed and are superior in strength, compared to "The Big Three."
Unless you live in the rust belt... then you won't find a good domestic frame anyway.

There was a local guy that had an early 50's Chevy truck body on a B2000/2200 frame.
