Well after thinkin that the main cause of my lifter tap is the 20/50 oil this ole lady put in it Im going to change the oil and run this seafoam through it. Ive never used the stuff so, Ill guess Ill see what happens. I know several have used it before on here.

The tap does go away mostly after it gets good and warmed up so Ive got high hopes for it.

I used some on my diesel, seems to have helped. I've read about it creating miracles. lol

I'll run seafoam thru my fuel system once a month. I use Marvel Mystery Oil in my oil. 1 quart for every 4 quarts, 5 quarts total. I have been thinking about making a can with a nipple so I can run it thru a vacuum line to help get some of the carbon out of the intake runners.

I've used Seafoam in the crankcase, but I've had better luck with substituting a quart of oil with transmission fluid.I did this for about 3k on my truck and when we had the valve cover off a couple of weeks ago my friend who was helping commented on how much cleaner the engine was since the last time he saw it opened up. It was a very noticeable difference. And as CJD said, MMO works well too.

I've also had great results from Kreen. I still have half a can I'm planning on running through my engine as soon as I get the catch can installed. It's a little more expensive than ATF so I want to be able to pour it back into the engine when it spits it out

Well I put the seafoam in last night, didnt notice any diff. This morning when I started it, it sounded a lot better than before. But went to take off in it for the first time really and it would barely get out of its own way. Im going to do some searching on here and see if I can find the answer to my problem. Its an 88 2.2l btw, all emission stuff still there.

how cold was it? did you let your choke warm up enough before taking off. this morning it was 5 so I had to let it warm up for 10 minutes before trying to leave. your issue might just be that simple.

Yeah I let it run for about 10 minutes or so. As soon as I got on the road and gave it gas to go out just bogged down like it wasn't getting fuel. It died and barely started back up.

Well the seafoam hasnt created any miracles. Got tons of blow by, if there is an opening its blowing oil out of it. Think im getting fuel in my crankcase too. If it dies, I have to start it WOT and it will finally catch and build rpm. Im just going to have to replace it or rebuild it. Needs a weber while Im at it.
